How to Track Workouts with Your Apple Watch

1. Open the Workout App

  • Locate the App: On your Apple Watch, find the Workout app. It’s a green icon with a running figure.
  • Open the App: Tap on the Workout app to open it.

2. Choose Your Workout

  • Select a Workout Type: Scroll through the list of available workout types, such as Outdoor Walk, Indoor Run, Cycling, Swimming, Yoga, and more.
  • Tap to Start: Tap on the type of workout you want to track.

3. Customize Your Workout (Optional)

  • Pause or End Workout: You can pause your workout at any time by pressing the side button and the Digital Crown simultaneously, or by swiping right on the screen and tapping “Pause.” To end your workout, swipe right and tap “End.”

5. Monitor Your Progress

  • View Metrics: During your workout, your Apple Watch will display various metrics such as heart rate, elapsed time, distance, pace, and calories burned.
  • Switch Views: Swipe left or right on the screen to see different views and metrics related to your workout.

6. Review Your Workout

  • End and Save Workout: When you’re done, end your workout by swiping right and tapping “End.” Then tap “Save” to store your workout data.
  • Check Summary: After saving, you’ll see a summary of your workout on your Apple Watch, including all the metrics tracked.

7. View Detailed Workout History on iPhone

  • Open the Activity App: On your iPhone, open the Activity app.
  • Go to Workouts Tab: Tap the “Workouts” tab to view a detailed history of all your tracked workouts.
