How to Charge Your AirPods and Charging Case
Charging your AirPods and their case is straightforward. Follow these steps to ensure they stay charged and ready to use:
1. Charging Your AirPods
Using the Charging Case:
- Place AirPods in the Case: Open the lid of the charging case and place each AirPod into its respective slot. Ensure they are securely seated in the case.
-
Check the Status Light: The status light inside the case (between the AirPods) will show the charge status:
- Amber Light: Your AirPods are charging.
- Green Light: Your AirPods are fully charged.
2. Charging the Charging Case
You can charge the AirPods case with or without the AirPods inside.
Using a Lightning Cable:
- Connect the Cable: Plug the Lightning end of the cable into the port at the bottom of the AirPods case.
- Plug into a Power Source: Connect the USB end of the cable to a power adapter and plug it into a wall outlet, or connect it to a USB port on your computer.
- Check the Status Light: The status light will turn amber while charging and green when fully charged.
Using a Wireless Charger (for Wireless Charging Cases):
- Place the Case on the Charger: Place your wireless charging case with the lid closed on a compatible Qi-certified wireless charger. The status light on the front of the case will show the charge status.
- Verify Charging: The light should turn amber to indicate charging. Once fully charged, the light will turn green.
3. Check the Battery Level
On Your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Lid Near Your Device: With your AirPods in the case, open the lid and hold it close to your iPhone or iPad. A pop-up will display the battery levels for both the AirPods and the case.
- Use the Batteries Widget: You can also check the battery status by adding the Batteries widget to your Today View or Home Screen. It will show the battery levels of your AirPods and case when they are connected.
On Your Mac:
- Open Bluetooth Settings: Click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar and hover over your AirPods in the list to see their battery levels.
- Check in System Preferences: Go to System Preferences > Bluetooth, and you will see the battery status next to your AirPods.
4. Battery Life Tips
- Charge Regularly: Keep your AirPods and case charged regularly to ensure they are always ready to use.
- Avoid Extreme Temperatures: Don’t expose your AirPods or charging case to extremely hot or cold temperatures, as this can affect battery life and performance.
- Clean the Contacts: Occasionally, clean the charging contacts on both the AirPods and inside the case with a dry, lint-free cloth to ensure proper charging.
- Use Certified Accessories: Always use the original or certified charging accessories to avoid damaging your AirPods or the case.
By following these steps, you can ensure that your AirPods and their charging case stay fully charged and ready to use.
